Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms , a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.The art director wanted a kind of shadowy, ghostly bogeyman, essentially seemingly formless and indistinguishable from shadow until it's too late.Β So I figured the creature has a wing-like cloak of shadow it "wears" around itself, then spreads them when it's ready to strike, revealing its creepy sickle arms and a toothy grin
