Description
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms , a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.Hm, not much interesting to say about this one, actually. I like her regal bearing, and enjoyed the (slightly uncanny-valley-esque) challenge of trying to make a humanoid torso work with the body of a lion, proportionally. I do think long flowing female hair lends itself well to creating that lion-mane/Egyptian hood-like shape around the face, but partway through, I started seeing "80s hair" and couldn't unsee it after that >_O haha.

The Lion and female Human merge perfectly, nice done!
Only the wings don't really seem to be attached to the body. Maybe some feathers around the "wing-shoulders" could help. And the folding doesn't convince me completely, but since i'm not really an artist myself i don't have a good idea for you. ^^'
I expecially like the hair, even if its kinda 80's.

Thank you! I see what you mean - I imagined the wings coming out behind the human shoulders, with some hair cascading down between the "arm shoulder" and the "wing shoulder," so it does kinda look potentially detached. Ironically, the folded wing was directly referenced from a photo! -> fc05.deviantart.net/fs31/i/200…
lol, glad you like the 80s hair XD Thanks again for your comment/critique!

I guess the wings woud fit better, if they weren't pointing that way up. The swan is standing quite upright on the photo, but the sphinx is on all four. Also the feathers right at the body could maybe be a little larger to give more flightspace. On the photo the feathers of the nearly folded wings of the swan are gliding over each other, especially at the wing-joint, while the ones of the Sphinx does all have exact the same space between them. (i hope you know, what i mean) ^^'
Nevertheless i like the sphinx quite a lot.

A riddle for the sphinx; "Rail road crossings, without any cars, can you spell that, without any 'R's?"
Nicely done, combining the anatomies. Yes, definitely '80s hair!
