Description
Who can resist a pun? Jayli (the One who Holds the Key) and Luke as Neo and Trinity, respectively X3. A piccy done in the spirit of Halloween, after much reassuring of Luke that I wouldn't overdo the leather pants.Excuse me as I try out a more cartoony style - it's also faster and easier for me to complete amidst studying. I kinda like it
~8 hours. Linework in Illustrator 10, colours in PhotoShop 7.

I love this picture! One of my best friends dressed as Neo for Halloween ([link] ), and this picture looks almost identical to him and his girlfriend, right down to his weird little bang-thingies.

Hehe, thanks! Well, my recommendation to you is to watch only the first Matrix - it's the only good one X3.

Really? Well, I definitely do want to check it out. I heard that it was a cliff-hanger, though.

No, the first Matrix wasn't a cliffhanger - it was the second Matrix movie that was a cliffhanger at the end.
I still say the first one is best. It has some really interesting philosophical ideas in it, and some really neat conceptual ideas in general. It makes a really great satire of today's technological society - it's very thought-provoking, if you let yourself think about it.
What really destroyed the second movie (and third, which I didn't even bother seeing because everyone said it was horrible), is that they stopped focussing on the interesting implications of the story and characters, and started focussing on cheesier, more Hollywood-ish things. Yes, the effects and fight-scenes and such were cool, and it had some neat ideas in it, but it was just... too... Hollywood.

Okay, I knew that one of them were a cliffhanger.
I never really knew much about the Matrix, but that makes it (the first one) sound more interesting. I love movies that make me think, it's better than just mindlessly watching something. And it sucks that they ruined something cool by making it too Hollywood as you put it. I hate it when something really cool is followed with a crappy sequel.

It's really hard to make a good sequel nowadays... not quite sure why...

I know what you mean. And in my opinion, the quality of most American movies seems to be going downhill. They just keep re-doing old movies, making sequels they don't really need sequels of, or making a ridiculous supposed-to-be romances. Some of the movies are good, but they're aren't nearly as many I want to see right now as I have in past years.

I know what you mean - I've gone to see, perhaps, three movies in the theatres in the past two years. They were okay.
Y'know what I'd love to see? Some really thought-provoking movies, something with real substance... Have you ever seen American Beauty? Really interesting philosophical movie - I thought it was awesome how they made philosophy the focus of the movie, without making it blatantly obvious and overdone. Another good movie that comes to mind is A Beautiful Mind, which is based on the true story of a genius who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia... and doesn't realise it until later in his life - really good, really interesting movie. And, I intend on buying FFVII: Advent Children when it comes out here (I've seen it - really awesome IMO)...
As for movies that are out and currently considered "good" - well, I hear Serenity is awesome, but I wouldn't know. The trailer turned me off, for some reason...

Eek, yeah. Piano exams, you say? What grade are you studying for? I'm only familiar with RCM, but I know others exist, too.

Ahhh, RCM = Royal Conservatory of Music. It goes up to teacher/performance level (Grade "11"), and requires ~2 years practice before you're likely to pass. I got to Grade 10 and realized I wouldn't be able to make it - school became too demanding.
