I've been meaning to make a series of tutorials for some time now, so I thought I'd kick it off with this one about drawing heads. This is information I (stubbornly) learned along my journey, and I want to share with those who might be having trouble. The character featured is my very own Jien, whom I don't draw anywhere near enough because males are harder for me :<
I still have a long way to grow as an artist, but I always like to share what little I do know. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to post another soon!

Thank you!!! This has made drawing faces soooo much easier for me. The way I used to do them left the people in my drawings looking a little too alike. I've tried out different proportions and shapes for facial features with this plot method and it's much more maleable than the old technique.
My style has always bored on anime and realistic, sorta comic book-ish with with a fantasy/water-color like flare. Now, I can get my pieces looking how I envisioned them! All thanks to your tutorial and know-how.

this was definitely an interesting take on head "shaping". i actually lol'd at work when i saw the knife chopping off the sides of the sphere!
