Children these days...Not that I don't love next gen gaming , but when someone calls themselves a gamer because they've only played Kingdom Hearts 2, then looks at me and says "Who is Samus Aran?" I want to kick them in the face o_0
It's not cool to walk into a store and buy a retro 8-bit Zelda shirt, having never played any of the games. I grew up with Atari, nintendo, and even CALICOVISION! I PLAYED DUCK HUNT WHEN I WAS 4 AND SHOT 2 INCHES FROM THE SCREEN. People who sport nerdom to be cool make me angry >=/

Totally agree! Kids who say they are gamers when they've only played Halo and that's it make me want to cry. T_T I'm sorry, but if that's all you've played, then your opinion is invalid. XD

I did have the original, housebrick sized gameboy. still do, somewhere. Had metroid on it, too

I admit, I'm only as oldschool as the Genesis, but once I got my hands on the SNES, I was in heaven.

oh man, what kind of tool would buy a retro game shirt if they never played the game :< damn kids. I heard that if you put your zapper right against the TV and pointed it at the grass then it would kill the ducks no matter where on the screenthey came out..not sure if that was true or not. I never had a colecovision, but I did have the TOURNAMENT 2000 :0 it had only 6 games for the system and they were all built into the machine, and you had to flip a big metal switch to choose from them. no idea when it was made but the design was very late 70's.
as for the picture, I really like her skintone and eyes. the hands look a little small in relation to the forearms and head though. setting the girl off-center was a small touch that really improved it, too.

Also. I had no idea the grey Zelda is "rare". Is "uncommon" a better word to use? Because if it's rare, I just converted a grey copy of Zelda into Final Fantasy II (the Neo-Demiforce translated version) using an EPROM writer, some memory chips, some soldering, and an old slot fan ... nerdy, yes. But the Zelda board is now a FF2 board. And I can play FF2. It's great.
(anyone in the market for a heavily mutilated Zelda ROM chip?)

Well. I bought my copy of grey Zelda for $10 off eBay. And most of the other grey Zeldas sell for around that when I checked.
But then again. I have Final Fantasy II instead of Zelda in my case... Soo.. It's probably better for me ^_^.

but yeah, I totally agree. I have a friend who is a couple years younger than me, and she talks about how she's such and oldschool gamer(which beign young doesn't mean you missed the oldschool games) but then she doesn't know what mario 2 is, and when she saw my nintendo zapper light gun, she was like WTF is that. and then she had the nerve to say that I wasn't as oldschool as she was because I never played some lame snes title.
I BEAT NOAH's ARK on the bible adventures game!!! and I still have everyone in my family's grey brick gameboy. and I remember when a 3-D arcade game meant that they had 3 screens that light was projected onto so that stuff could be in the back middle or front, stupid ninjas...
I did have an atarii but we could only get it to work some of the time. it wasnt the cart atarii either, it was the 3 game selector switch box that had pong, and 2 other games that were pretty much pong.
did you ever have one of those game and watch systems, not the ones you wear on your wrist, but the ones that you could stand on your dresser with the little metal tab on the back. I liked the donkey kong junior one I had, well I guess I still have it, but It was cool when I was a kid because it was like those other handheld games but small enough to hide in your pocket.
anyway, this is cool drawing, legit gamer girls are cool and I suppose the legit ones are fairly rare.

lol duck hunt. Nerdom goes a bit too far when you see kids camping outside of Best Buy for sold out PS3s but yeah, totally agree, fakes not cool. I don't really enjoy console games at all. I liked Shadow of the Colossus though (I have 5 more bosses to go) and a few other PC games...zoo sims mostly. lol
