Between this and the new Mega Man 11 trailer earlier today, several of my favorite gaming franchises are just seeing fit to spoil me on my birthday. ^_^

I gotta be honest. As good as Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee looks. So far the game play looks too simple for my tastes. It might end up being a pokemon game I skip and get the upcoming gen 8 game. Megaman 11 on the other hand, is a game I am looking forward to.

I'm really dislike the Pokemon go catching in the game. It feels way too much like a lottery you can influence only so much instead of battling where you had to use strategy and planning and skill. This would be awesome if it kept all the features and let you chose to use Pokemon go style or traditional style. I'm wondering if we find out later it's a hybrid where you do a normal battle but use the Pokemon go style to use the pokeballs. That would be amazing and so fun.

They show a battle in the trailer. It looks like standard Pokemon RPG battle. Only the catching is Go style. So yeah, it's already revealed to be kind of a "hybrid".

I assumed wild battles were Pokemon go style but trainer battles weren't.

The good news is that according to the press conference where this was revealed that they said that a game "more like X & Y and Sun & Moon" is coming in 2019. This is basically a spin-off game. If it were Gen 8, I would've been worried, but this is fine in my opinion.

So, Nintendo is just going to make all the money off of these games. I just hope they do the smart thing and import the soundtrack from the anime series.

Gen 8 is coming. But as I expected, it's just too soon. I'm honestly glad they did this first.
They have already basically confirmed it for next year though.
