Description
The new female trainer from "PokΓ©mon: Black & White 2". I drew her because... I can. Seriously, I've been drawing Rain pages for like the past 11 straight hours. During a short break, I stumbled upon the design for her (and her dorky-looking male counterpart), that was apparently just revealed as of yesterday. And I was all like, "Break from drawing Rain so I can focus on doodling some fanart!"So I did, as you can see. ^_^
And I must say, I'm just awestruck by how impossibly adorable this kid is. I just want to pinch her cheeks forever! In all honesty, I feel like I haven't liked the designs of recent trainer girls in a long while (kinda makes it harder to connect when I dislike the design; yeah, I'm one of THOSE people), so this was a pleasant surprise. The Sailor Moon-esque hairbuns are a little out there mind you, but somehow, I wouldn't want her without them (unfortunately, they don't mesh with my art style, so I kinda had to tone them down).
And is it wrong that I totally love her color scheme primarily because it matches the transgender flag (plus yellow)?
Anyway, here's the official pic if you're interested in comparing: [link]

Hey, wait, what happened to Touko?? Are they not using the same heroes as before?

It's a different story with different characters, actually. It's still in the Unova Region (I think) but takes place like two years after the events Black and White. I'm willing to bet the old trainers will make some kind of cameo though.

they apparently never did, but i notice a lot of people referred to them as "that trainer from two years ago"

Heh. I know. I would hear people mention them (albeit seldomly), and always in the past tense. People reacted as though the trainer from the first game died or something.

do i see a portal reference in the description?
That's what I'm counting on.

At the risk of disappointing you, it's a probably just a coincidence. I've actually never played Portal. Sorry.
Although, I am kinda curious about the reference now...

Awesome! I think that her skirt is actually a pair of shorts, though.
GASP! What if she is transgender? That would be a revolutionary new step for Pokemon.

Interestingly enough, there seems to be a lot of debate already as to whether she's wearing shorts or a skirt (plentiful fanart pieces seem to show split opinions on it; it's becoming "Brendan's hat/hair" all over again). Upon looking again, it probably IS shorts, but I think I like it as a skirt better. It's just cuter, in my opinion.
Also, if there was a transgender PokΓ©mon character, that would be awesome. Somehow, I don't see it happening, but I'd love it all the same. ^_^

We could just cal it a skirt with two legholes.
And some Pokemon characters can get pretty ambiguous, such as Harley and Cilan. Not many transgenders, though. I like to imagine Bugsy as a FtM transgender person, though. He gets angry when everyone calls him a girl. In my headcanon, I think it's because he hates being stuck in the body of a girl and desperately wants to be a boy but is unable to begin transition at this time.
Hmm... I hope that wasn't offensive or insensitive. It sounded a lot better in my head.

...Actually, I believe Bugsy is supposed to be biologically male. [link] Even though he looks somewhat girlish (I swear, I thought he was a girl until I played the remakes), I think he's just a boy who is often mistaken for a girl.

Ooh, that's right. They have decided to make Black and white 2 instead of a new series of colours....
I feel so out of the pokemon series right now.

You want to see more non-Rain stuff, huh? I don't blame you. It's one of the reasons I've been trying to squeeze Shangri-La in once a week too.
That said, once upon time, I actually primarily did fanart and gag comics and just random pieces. Honestly, I'd love to include more stuff that's just unrelated to anything but I never really do. I should try to do something like this once in a while though. ^_^

Hm? Well if you enjoy doing it, and your fans enjoy doing it it might be cool to have some more of the gag comics/random things?
Polls.. aren't always the best method of asking, but you could see how some of your fans would feel if you cut down on production of Rain by a chapter a week? Or spreading the days in between out a bit in exchange for doing more gag comics/fanart and the like? As, well, that was pretty cute.

I'll probably be drawing her soon, too. Though I think I need to draw real Touko afterwards. (I drew someone COSPLAYING as Touko... which isn't quite the same.)
Yeah, she's impossibly adorable while making me think of the eighties (I don't know what's with Japan and 80's USA). But I am getting a tad wary of the art direction.
Here's hoping Kyurem's introduction into the plot will make for a truly memorable experience...
I think I'll be pursuing Zekrom-Kyruem this time. Reshiram by itself is great, but think Kyruem meshes better with the black dragon.

It didn't click with me until you mentioned it, but you're right, the new protagonists DO look positively eighties-tastic. That's awesome!
If I didn't know for a fact that the story is supposed to take place like a year (or so) after the original Black and White, it'd almost make me think the game was going to take place in the eighties. Honestly, I may just try to imagine it like that in mind when I play it now. For some reason, I'm just eager to see a less futuristic PokΓ©mon setting (have been for like two generations now for some reason).

Then I'm curious how they'd go about this. Like what sort of setting they'd go. I think they only went this hyper futuristic in Black and White. Platinum started approaching that territory in the last Gym Town.
I guess seeing more places like the Village Bridge wouldn't hurt.

YAY POKEMON! Hey wait... What's up with this? Do the hero/heroine always wears hats in pokemon or is that just me? And the rival usually has wild poofy hair... >_>

There are only two player characters without hats and they're from one of the Pokemon Rangers games.

never actually played actually those. I meant in the traditional pokemon RPG games. although checking the character models I originally thought the female character's hair was a hat. lol

If you're counting the Gamecube games, Wes (protagonist of Colloseum) doesn't have any sort of hat.
