Michael and Jonah, recently moved from out of town, are the new bookstore owners in Beach City.

Michael doesn't get along very well with Steven or his manchildish father, but he's taken quite the liking to the Gems, Pearl and Garnet especially.
Jonah, on the other hand, likes everyone. He thinks Steven is hilarious and especially likes shy little Connie, and often lets the two of them walk him around the Boardwalk while Michael is being a grump and/or busying himself with things around the shop.

They can often be seen walking arm-in-arm along the beach, talking, and after a while most people know not to bug them at these times, even Steven.
