Aw. ;_; My cousin used to have a lot of fish, but they all died too. Fish must be difficult to take care of.

Also, your air pipes need air stone at the end, it'll help when your tank gets cloudly like this for breathing for your fish.
Shrimp would be the best thing to clean the bottom of your tank then a catfish or other bottom feeding fish since they tend to get agressive.
Koi's need 55 gallons or more. Actually more since they get VERY big and a 55 gallon is very narrow for them to turn and swim in.

Actually thats a myth that they'll stay small in a small tank, the best way I compair their life in a small tank is:
Would you like to live your whole life in a 4 by 4 closet?
And ah~ I see :3

Goldfish have very fast motabolizims so they dont need the heater unless sick or laying eggs.
Topical fish NEED a heater.
Fantailed goldfish are just as nice :3 If you want to get something Koi looking since they are hard to house, you can get either a Shubunkins or fancy Comet fish ;3

ill look at them more next time im at wal-mart
and if i need a heater cant i just add warm water cause of the nature of my tank??

Warm water wont help and you get your fish at Wal*Mart? Dude, how much do you pay?
And you have a heater in the tank in the picture, thats all thats needed for a tropical tank, the goldfish dont need one.

the goldfish yea(reason convience) the ones that you see in this pic are from aquatics unlimited (there site is bestfish.com ) which id rather get fish from but there outta the way like youre in chgicago sayin the us is one big city-- would you rather go to milwaukee or branson?? detroit or salem(witch city) its like that
the goldfish are like 5 bucks a pop round here but the wite one did last (and is still alive) over month

With proper care, goldfish can live for many years. Mine is on his 4th.
Before you buy fish, look at ALL the fish in the tank, if ANY of them look the slightest bit sick? Don't buy any fish from THAT tank. If you find a tank where all the fish look good? THEN you can buy a fish :3

Snails will breed like wild fire, only get one.
If you want more then one betta in a tank, get females, males will kill eachother no matter what size tank.
Tetras and Mollies shouldn't mix because of egg-laying verus live baring and tetras will most likely gang up on the 'pretty' mollies and eat their fins, or possibly tear them up.
I notice you have a high skirt tetra and a long fin barb, stick to more tetras and barbs, small schools would be fine, they'll fill your tank and swim all nice together :3 For more tetras theres Serpae, red eye, lemon, daimon, white skirt and barbs, theres cherry, tiger, golden anndd thats all I can think of
And theres my suggestions from a petshop worker :3

the place that i got hose from you can trtade them in after youre done cycling fer i think 3/4 of value look at bestfish.com thats there site
but egg laying yea how long would that take?? (i just got small and enough to cycle) mollies i can get --like buy-- while there pregnant so starting them i dont think woiuld be that just have ta know how to tell guys from girls course its that way with most fish
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ConfusedKain In reply to jodeecmptrwiz [2006-11-07 04:02:26 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't take that long for live barers to give birth but as for egg laying, thats alittle complicated.
If you notice a pregnant female you have to take her out and put her in another tank with a special layout for the eggs to grow, if ege layers are left alone to fend for themselves in a tank with other fish, the eggs will be eatten before they could grow and hatch into fry.

and there as easily to tell as mollies are?? an are they like all you hear of samon or? --if ya get that one-- cause id think theyd be ok with the goldfish or i could use my makeshift thing --was gonna do that with first couple mollies so i could be more likely to see
also whats a general easy way to tell apart?? like mollies i know one type i think swordtails guys have longer tails one kinda backwards pointed fin that yea

ConfusedKain In reply to jodeecmptrwiz [2006-11-08 05:35:03 +0000 UTC]
When it comes to live bareing topical fish? You look at the anal fin, if it opens like a fan? It's a female! If it sticks straight out like a little peenor? It's a male.
And its very easy to tell when live barers are pregnant, except for 'ballon' breeds since they're always fat, lol.

(fer some reason my 5 gallon was really clowdy i was stupid and switched out the water food is tetramin tropical clear water formula an yea now my new goldfish is really fat but the outher2 arent so--tank temp rightnow is 66 or so--red as green 68 is brown)

Alot of goldfish in a small tank create alot of ammonia, which isn't good, they cant breath which is why its better for them to be in a bigger tank, as well as many other reasons why.
