They tend to keep each other occupied when I'm not giving them attention. Plus, I take them out herding or do agility with them. They are kind of like toddlers. Give them lots of big muscle activity - play, feed them and they stay pretty happy

ahh yea ours has an older sheep dog ta play with but bad hips on the older one so yea plus the pup is pretty crazy at times tho ya let them out fer half houir ta maby hour an a half--i ferget occasiona;lly-- that usially keeps them ok fer abit (there out fer 10 they bug ta go back out in 10)

yea there ok the only proublem is if ones in an the outhers out after awhile(eighter way) the pup will go nuts he CANT be seperated by too much from the older one (there ok across the house from eachouther fer some reason) its just wierd an we all know the older one is REALLY old especally fer the breed an size of it

That might be a problem when the older one passes on. Do you know anyone with younger dogs you could set up doggie playdates with? Or do you plan on getting another younger dog as a companion for the pup?

were likely ta get another younger one (we had a dane bout the same age as the older one but she got some tomur that the vet said danes usially DONT get so yea thet had ta kill her--thats what it is killing theres just a "fancy" word so it dosent feel so bad-- so later on we got the pup) so yea dont know the breed or where or that who knows?? maby well get a sphinx or an elf (cats my uncle thinks they look really cool)

Well, it's true that euthansia is killing the animal, but if the animal is suffering it's really the kindest thing you can do. It's never an easy decision or easy to go through and unfortunately I've been through my fair share. The other sad fact is that the larger the breed of dog, the shorter it's lifespan is. Danes don't usually live longer than around 8-9 years. It's way too short of a time to have them. If you are an animal lover, saying goodbye to your pet is the same as losing a family member.

yea she was like 7 i think that was when?? 5 years ago?? so the sheepdog is oh id wager over 10 hees bout the same size as the dane was
