It wouldn't surprise me cause the architect was European. So is most of the building. The Golden Boy came from France.

Dear heavens, this picture is INTENSE!
The place in the middle is a relic from ancient rome and can also be found in greece. Rotunda like this were used to administer justice, for political meetings and for prayer. Because of the lack of electric light or heat, there was a fire in the middle in all of those buildings. In some temples, priests and special warden had to watch over the fire day and night and keep it burning.
