I like the feeling of seeing an illusory construction. This image gives me the impression of an opening through time and space. Beautiful work.

Such beautiful work once again Joe. I must say that it came up as a blank white rectangle in my stack, but clicking on that brought me here where I can see it in it's glory. DA is still glitching big time as it has been for weeks on end and there seems to be no intention on their parts to fix this issue of missing art, vanishing icons, journals not displaying correctly and now the skin has vanished on one I am working on. I have had to replace all the artwork I was featuring this is the 3rd time now. The icons will not line up so on and so on. I am not ready to publish it yet but stash is giving me such a headache. I am Anyways I love this one too it seems like there should really be a button that would fave all your work right into my gallery so I would never miss any of them, but then again most of my faves vanish on and off.

Thanks so much, Denyse.
I have the same problem in DA. Things don't showΒ
and it's really not a good way to have a web site.Β

And they don't care and that is what is wrong here. When we contact the help desk they want a screenshot before they will even talk to you, then you get a form letter that they send out over and over again they never fix anything. How can I give them a screen shot of something that has vanished??? Anyways, a lot of my friends have gone missing because of the unwatch issues as well. I have never unwatched any of my friends but as time goes by, to my horror, I find out when I check on them that we are no longer watching each other and neither one has wanted this. I hear that DA has raised the price of the membership to $50.00 now and unfortunately many are just leaving. I plan to stay in spite of all of this because of good dear friends like you Joe. If you ever become unwatched please tell me because I would never ever unwatch you .

I will tell Β you if I see you are not watching dear.
They raise the price about a year ago. I don't seeΒ
much for my money. Yes, the help desk is a joke.
I guess all they really want here if the young people
who mostly do the same kind of art.

Having owned my own company for over 30 years and worked at my brother's for another 13 years, I can tell you first hand what happens with poor customer service. It backfires and that is never a good thing. I am sure they have lost a lot of their members, but they do not care anymore than a business I contacted recently trying to buy 2 pricey recliner chairs. I wanted a certain color ( same material full grain leather ) just the color different they had in stock and used on a different chair. The response was ( we do not offer it on that model) My response, since we have to custom order the chairs to begin with and you have the material and I am willing to pay extra to get what I want why don't you make this for me? The response WELL IF WE DO IT FOR YOU WE WILL HAVE TO DO IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. Β My response, well then you would sell a lot more of these chairs if there is that much demand why not satisfy this demand and make way more money and have a more successful business. Response we just don't do that. Thatr is when I said that I was trying my very best to keep the jobs here in the United States and this was just very frustrating. The person hung up on me. I wound up buying 2 recliners from Norway because they had what I wanted. This is what is wrong and why jobs are vanishing here in the States. Poor customer service and low paid employees who simply do not care. The owners rarely check on what it going on and make themselves unavailable so you cannot get in touch with them. Sorry, now I feel much better lolΒ

I'm glad you feel better now, Denyse!
I totally agree with you in all you said.
Out of curiosity, what business were you in?
I had a roofing business for awhile but I found that
my good friend and partner was stealing from me.

My husband and I had a drywall finishing, texturing business. I am the first woman inducted into the union in our area (I cannot say if others made it before me in other areas.) Β and that took 3 years to accomplish because they were refusing to let me in because they did not think I could make it lol . Anyways, that openned the doors for many to follow and now there are women in all construction trades. Many have their own businesses as well. I am sorry that your partner stole from you Joe, that is terrible and it happens a lot. I am sure you did very good work, Β but under those conditions nobody can survive. I hope he went to jail or at least repaid you.

We settled but the friendship was at an end.
I never did drywall but I did do some finishing of it
using the mud and taping. I actually liked it but Β didn't do ceiling.
It's great that you were an innovator in the trades industry.

I did a lot of knock down textures the last 10 years or so including ceilings. Before that most had simulated acoustical sprayed on ceilings and walls got a splatter or fog . My husband built 2 huge rigs for this purpose as we specialized in volume work. I am sorry your friendship ended and it is something that unfortunately happens all the time. You being and artist would have of course loved drywall finishing including the custom sponge, brush anything one can use to create a different look. I loved doing those and always hoped we did not have to come back to fix a hole in the wall or a big scrape by careless movers etc... because it was so hard to match. LOL We share a lot of common history you and I Joe.

Yes we do share many things, Denyse. I think you have and had a very
interesting life.
I use joint compound now for my are. Texturing is so much cheaper using it rather
than the things they sell for a canvas and it's just as good.

awesome43 In reply to Joe-Maccer [2016-10-09 01:24:14 +0000 UTC]
Really, that is so cool Do you use fast set or regular. I use to use the fast set for patching but now they have this really nice super fluffy lightweight joint compound. I think it is made by USG. It is really good for overhead work and for art it might be good so things are not as heavy. I am always amazed by things we come up with that have nothing to do with the purpose of an item lol
