It is good for texturing.

Hand texturing yes especially because it has no lumps. If you were to use a sprayer with deluted mud I would watch not to add too much water but enough not to clog the nozzle because this is a softer version and has more air in it. . I have not used it in a spray gun, only hand texturing. The beauty of this is you don't have to deal with lumps and scratches etc...also when you are using a wide mud pan and knife weight is an issue especially on a large project. Very hard on the wrists so the less weight the better.

I only use it with a palette knife and play until it looks
like it would make a cool background. I have seen on youtube
a man who creates art on walls using it.  Amazing use of drywall mud.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqwgB9…

Wow !!!! This just blew my mind. I wonder how they keep it from cracking because being that thick I would assume there would be a problem with that. They must be adding something to the mix. I just showed this to my husband and told him I want to get rid of my tall hutch in my dining room and get a low profile one so can do a huge mural but he must practice first on plywood or something else until he gets the hang of it. Well he is not into art but I think he could do this maybe a simpler subject but he was very impressed. So I am. I might give it a try someday too but right now my brain is on overload. Lol Did I miss some of your mud work ? or are you just starting out and not ready to submit yet?

My texturing are mostly in the process but they will be subtle.
As you said if it's too thick it will crack especially on a canvas.
That sounds cool that you and your husband may play with this idea of the wall art.

Well hopefully it will pan out. At the moment he is watching Nascar Sprint cup racing and iI think he is way more interested in that LOL and the ongoing restoration on his 1965 El Camino. But one never knows and one can hope. LOl

It is really a very special car because we bought it used in 1970 the year we were married. It has a long history and our pride and joy. So I am glad you like it. I hope someday to be able to take it out again so I can take some decent photos those were pulled from an album we displayed with the care and were all faded and not digital so poor quality to say the least. As it is now the car has been in storage covered up in our driveway behind a very tall fence with non op tags etc... so to put it back on the street would take a bunch of dough because I would also have to add the liability part of the insurance back in as well as paying the tags. We hope someday to display them together as they will be with twin paint jobs. But this may not happen anytime soon.
