Try acrylics, they are less expensive, different look, but nice to work with. Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't have all the fancy programs, but I am trying to teach myself Photoshop and I'm having way to much fun. I keep losing focus on what I should be doing!

I have used acrylics but they dry to fast for what I do.
Sometimes loosing focus is the best thing for art sometimes...

i just bought a medium that extends the working time of acrylics. It works great. But your right, I still like oils for a lot of my work.
And I hope I get my focus back soon or my business will go down the drain!

My business is not so much the art that I do, but my jewelry design, wire sculpture, the small stuff that sells quickly. That is what we do to survive. Art is my get away, unfortunately I don't get away very often anymore.

I wish I could have art as my sole focus. Unfortunately, other daily obligations tend to get in the way. And that sounds like a good use for an artist! To be used by nature. I love that!

I do work away from home but when I do get back
I clean up eat and right back to art.
TV doesn't come into play..I guess I'm not normal
to others but I am happy doing my thing.
I say nature is able to use me because I don't plan art.
I just start and play with designs and colors until something
looks good.

I agree about the tv, I haven't watched in months. I put it on for a work-out dvd and that's it. I don't miss it at all! What about family? That is where I lose my studio time! Cooking laundry groceries all that fun stuff!
Well nature uses you well, because your work is wonderful! I have been trying that with my photos and Photoshop, but I don't know enough and don't have enough time.

It's easy for me to do art.

Sometimes I get lonely but it's part of life
and I accept it.
I really do live in the now so I don't think too
much about tomorrow.
If now is always taken care of so will tomorrow.
I do make sure I earn a living so it's not
a cold tomorrow...
