I heard the console really took a beating with all the pyrotechnics used in filming 10's regeneration scene, which seems to be confirmed by the obvious low lighting both times it's been used on screen since: for "The Doctor's Wife" and for the 50th Anniversary Special, "The Day of the Doctor".
Does it look charred and beaten, at least more so than just by David Tennant's wacks with the mallet?

I envy you....Does the Tardis still look like that now? I havent saw Dr Who since I moved to Greece,When David Tennant just died as the doctor.I can imagine it probably looks different by now,they normally change the Tardis after a few doctors

I think David Tennant was the best doctor,I dont see how he could be bettered in the future,so never really anticipated new episodes

I have been in that TARDIS as well, but it was in Cardiff and I pressed a button on the console and they wired it up so when I pushed the time rotor moved! it was awesome!!
