Description I decided to have another go at this cover, after 25 years. Used a stock shot of Earth from NASA, my tax dollars at work.
In the first installment, he rescues New York from a plummeting, badly drawn satellite. I cannot remember why we didn't just have him deflect it into the ocean, rather than have it contribute further to the space trash problem, but that's what we did.
I wanted to make the cover part of the story, hence the bits and pieces of debris floating around, and I wanted the pose to look like he'd just thrown something away from the Earth.
I threw a space station into the background, too, because we had in our notes that we had regular commercial flights into space, and as cliche as wheel stations are, they're still the best idea for long term living in space.
It looked a little barren without the title, so I decided to put that in, as well. Had a lot of fun doing this.
