Description
A t-shirt design I did for a martial arts school. I recall the final version had a big red yin-yang symbol behind it, of course.Update: Mongoose Martial Arts owns the trademark to this artwork. They're the only ones who can use it now! Please contact them if you want to use it on something yourself.

Could you be commissioned to create something like this for a logo? it's for a fighting system affiliated with Graciefighter called Mongoose Combat. Or could I license the use of this image?

Very nicely done. You capture the struggle of these ancient foes so well. It is in their blood, their very nature too reenact this battle over and over again. Sometimes one brave warrior wins, sometimes the other. Of course you realize, from my perspective...the mongoose must die.

Very cool, this is one of those times I really wish I could draw without references.

It's not anywhere on their site, but that shirt was done for Mongoose Karate of San Antonio. You could send the guy an email and ask him if he has any left!
Sorry about the delay; I didn't remember for whom it had been done. But this last week I got a call to do a new shirt for them to replace this design, so I found out what their website is.

I wish I could contribute some sort of helpful criticism of insight, but all my meaningful commentary is drowning out by my inner 12 year old boy going "EPIIIIIIC!"

There are such things in art as balance, shading, and dynamic figure placement. But sometimes they're all subservient to kicking ass.

I like the semi-anthropomorphized look to the Mongoose, like he's going to punch the cobra.

Mongooses are so cool. I can't think of any other little furry animal that can jack a cobra.

That would be an inspiration for me to practice martial arts, to have sweet T-shirts by Joe on my back.
