DASH RENDAR!Finally! With Topps taking over every waking moment of my art life the past month, it's been WAY too long since I got around to this Expanded Universe series. So here's the long overdue 9th card. I've always been a huge fan of Dash, and had to include him in this set. Hope you guys dig!!
LOL If you guys have been paying attention to my recent sketch cards, you can probably guess who number 10 will be....

Dash Rendar is one of the best SW video game characters since Kyle Katarn of the Dark Forces series. I especially like Dash Rendar because he's a redhead with green eyes, he's not affiliated with either Empire or Alliance, and he has his own starship and droid co-pilot. Of course, I won't say he's cooler than Han Solo, but that's just a matter of opinion and/or perspective. On top of that, I believed that he survived the skyhook battle over Coruscant and was only "presumed" dead in the end of the Shadows of the Empire story. It didn't seem to add up that he just died after Darth Vader blew up the Black Sun skyhook. But enough of that; your work is very detailed and beautiful. As for me, I haven't drawn Star Wars characters in a long time, but I thought about doing some sooner or later.

I agree about Dash, and Kyle for that matter (Kyle was the card I did after Dash here). Also, Dash did survive, he's in the comic Shadows of the Empire: Evolutions which takes place later on after Return of the Jedi.

I just wanna say, he looks so bad ass with that expression and sweet little pistol. And the pose helps to make him look even more tough. All in all, this is great. Nicely done, as usual.

Boy, wouldn't that put the newer stuff to shame? A Star Wars movie with actual WRITING behind it! And of course, one with a main character who follows the 'no match for a good blaster' philosophy again. That'd be nice. Prequels did so lack the smuggler element...
