question! How do you do a piece like this? do you draw all the characters and back ground separate then add them in or do you simply do it in layers?

Hey there! Sorry for the late reply. Typically I sketch everything on separate layers until the composition looks good to me. Then, most characters are their own group of layers so that I can change lighting and other effects to give the illusion of depth between the groups of layers. Hope that helps!

Do you have all the equipment? I use Photoshop and a Cintiq monitor but you can use a tablet for the drawing part!

i havent gotten a tablet yet i am planning on it. i dont know which version of photoshop to use though when i do

Thanks much! That clone is an OC character of the person who commissioned me, I'm afraid I don't know much about him past the reference images I was supplied with!

your composition is crazy awesome dude!!!! you layered the saturation of each background and it really gives the picture such depth, your line quality has always been tight but the white outlines has added such a leap forward in your style - not to belittle anything you've done before but this is seriously one of your best works!!
