I do all my digital work 100% with Photoshop. It's a matter of finding the right texture, and then playing with the blend modes. This one is a grunge texture set to "Overlay" on the top of the image. Hope that helps!!

Just curious, where do you get your textures from?

Oh wow, glad you asked! I use the same grunge texture as a "base" texture that I use in my digi sketch cards but got it so long ago that I couldn't find where I got it from. Meanwhile, I went searching for it through Google, and actually found it here on DA! (Although found it for me again a while ago and I forgot where he found it...) but here it is, and now I can credit the DA user in the descriptions! YAAAAAAAAY.

Anyway, I always have this texture as the top layer, set to Overlay at 100%. I'll then go in and if I think it needs it, maybe throw some frost or paper textures to give it a little bit of a weathered look. Sometimes I use a metal texture on low opacity on armor, but not too obvious.
