The sky is not what's being exposed here. There is no rule about exposing the sky when you're doing portraits

This is a nice shot! Good arabesque from the model as well...a bit of constructive criticism from one dancer to another...the hips need to be more squared which will correct the angle of her torsoe and the right shoulder dropped down away from the ear (which might be achieved by moving the right arm more out to the side rather than so far back).
