In 21XX, the H.O.R.S.E. virus (Heuristic Omni-entechmentating Robo-digital Systemic Enhancer) was unleashed on Equestria by unknown antagonists. While some ponies only received nominal/partial cybernetic upgrades after being infected, others such as Pinkie Pie were all but totally restructured as semi-sentient, electro-autronic A.I. Gynoid units now calledΒ M.A.R.E.S. (Myriad Augmented Robot Exotronic Systems). Shown here, Pinkie Pie/P-3.1415926 tries DESPERATELY to hang on to mere shreds of her former Pony identity as the H.O.R.S.E. virus aggressively attempts to reformat her fading cognitive function to replicate that of a proto-heuristic mainframe computer that she is destined to become!

I'm not sure really. I was listening to Deftones [link] and this one sprang it's self on me.
I can't tell if she's been turned into a machine against her will, or if she's a cybernetic copy that doesn't know she isn't the original.
