Happy so share a book cover I finished recently. I worked on a lot of book covers in the early days of my career, so being asked to paint another one was a fun throwback.

In this image I took inspiration from movie posters in terms of composition. It was tough to arrange all the elements; Scale, placement and dynamism needed to overlap to create an image that is pleasant to the eye.

The book tackles the Roman battle on the Egyptian shores between Marc Anthony & Gaius Octavius, later known as Augustus. Besides these historical events, the book has a healthy dose of personal interpretation that served as an interesting part of the briefing I received before working on this painting.
