Hi everyone,
Hope all is well, What do you know about the Roman/Byzantine Empire?
Another character for my worldbuilding project, a Byzantine Cataphract warrior, active in the remnants of the Roman Empire.

After the fall of the Western Roman Empire the Byzantines/Eastern Romans attempted to conquer back italy, meeting resistance from the local barbarians/Lombards from the north and the Abassid Caliphate from the south through Sicilly.
Please share any knowledge you have about this subject, I always like to learn.
