Happy to share this painting for my my worldbuilding!

Some background about this piece and the future of my artwork:

Like most artists currently I have felt under the weather by the unwelcome advent of AI. It made me think about what I want from my own art & reconsider my workflow alltogether, I made a decision.

I felt too complacent with my artwork in general. Quick artwork that feeds an algorithm that does not build towards anything greater in the long term.

Right now, I feel its the time to push myself farther, and explore worldbuilding, meaning and storytelling on a different level in my art. Artwork that takes time, all the time it needs. I hope the piece below can be a good first step for that goal.

The painting below symbolizes this complacency; Encroaching on the main character who aims to battle his way out of impending danger.

Gibeon, Middle East, 1300 BC

The morning broke. The howling Midianite raiders from the southern deserts rampaged through the Hebrew capital of Gibeon, and the defenders made their last stand. The bronze armor under the beatings made Yair's limbs heavy, but the finesse with the kopesh made the Arbiter of the city a prime threat. Slowly, the Midianites raiders surrounded him, laughing like the hyenas of the desert, weapons exposed. Yair would need to fight his way through and warn the other Hebrew tribes. Only then could they elect a new leader to raise a resistance and regain freedom.
