Oh look, it's the real Thorin and not pseudo-Aragorn from the movies!

This is how he should have been portrayed in the movies!

Nice one. Way more dwarvish. Though I like the movie version as well, but this is, well... more like without the human goggles on.

This is a lot closer to my mental depiction of Thorin than pretty movie Thorin. Congratulations on a nice job and also for not following the herd.

No, the artist made him resemble a Dwarf, unlike the "half-Klingon" Thorin in the Hobbit films

Thorin is a lot smaller and thinner than that.

Smaller ? How can you possibly know how tall the guy is this drawing is, considering there's no one to compare him to ? From what I see, he might be 2, 3 or 7 feet tall, we don't know...
As for thinner, well, I guess you're comparing him to the movie's version of Thorin played by Richard Armitage... But don't forget movie-Thorin is just an adaptation, the "real" Thorin was created by Tolkien and we have no idea how thin/fat he was ! This portrait is the artist's interpretation of a fictional character, there is no "right" way to draw him...

Technically, the right way to draw him would be to draw him as he was depicted in the Rankin-Bass movie...

You should do all of the dwarves, bilbo, and gandalf like you did this this is quite amazing

Wow, just amazing. His expression is so intense! And he harmonizes so well with the mountains and ground in the background, as befits a dwarf.

Marvelous work! Considerably closer to the way I've imagined Thorin than the actor chosen for the upcoming film.

A very fine interpretation of the character. His beard may be no longer than Peter Jackson's and the hair no greyer, but the face (which bears a striking resemblance to the 'face of bo'(?) from Dr Who) has so much more character in it- hard bitten, the severity of the rumpled lines around the nose tempered with the soulfulness of the eyes and the sad greying tones of the flesh (of course if you wanted to do a 'Lord of the Rings' style dwarf the eyes should be smaller and closer together but i'll assume you're working free of those conventions). A fantastic piece

This is great, too bad they didn't consult you for the artwork for the new Hobbit film, I much prefer this version of Thorin.

This is incredible!
The detail in the face and beard is really realistic as well.
