Well, actually I draw several poses before I choose one that has more appeal among the others. Then, I re-draw the pose again to make sure everything has its right proportion, checking composition and making little changes if necessary. But if it's getting hard to draw a good pose, try to search for photos to use as reference for your drawing. It helps a lot.
