People usually bring up homosexuality in the whole argument about whether or not ZADR should happen, ignoring the (to me) even more significant fact that the two are different species. This idea just kind of randomly occurred to me when I considered that in some ways, Dib dating a monkey would make more sense than an alien, since at least monkeys and humans are kind of related. Granted I don't know if Zim would count as a reptile...heck, he kind of looks like some kind of giant bug...This picture of Dib comes from a screenshot from the show (modified to have an open mouth), while the lizard comes from some sort of clip-art I found on the Internet. I'm a bit unsure about the background, but I couldn't decide between the green and the (sarcastically romantic) pink so I decided to go for both.

P.S.: No, Dib isn't supporting DALR, he and I are being sarcasic.

Your right, it is ironic that they are a different species, like DATR, Although homosexuality is mainly what I'm against. Okay, I admit the fact that there are other cartoons with pairings that are different species I do support, ones that are heterosexual that is, but I guess I'm normally used to it happening in a cartoon, because in cartoons, it's common. I mostly aim for just the cannon pairings though.
pairing Dib up with a lizard or monkey would make more sense to me than ZADR, even though those don't make sense at all either.

Yeah, I admit somehow some things seem to "feel" better than others...like one cartoon talking animal being in love with another somehow seems more "okay" to me than an Irken with a human. (Also for some reason an Irken liking a human seems less weird to me than the other way around...but anyway.)
Interesting you mention DATR, because I actually like that pairing, except that yeah, different species thing. Though it could work in one of those Dib-becomes-an-Irken fanfics...

I don't mind Dib and Tak as much because there was at least one scene where they were next to each other -not- trying to claw each others eyes out viciously. Of course, Tak was faking not being disgusted by Dib's smelly primitive humanness, but the idea of Dib crushing on her human form for that week or so has always been really cute to me. X3
I like the inclusion of the stupid part. That's always bugged me most about sexual ZADR. 1. Zim's a vat-baby, probably asexual. He obviously doesn't have any genitals as we've seen his midriff before in the lice episode. 2.He's... stupid. Brutally stupid. Imagine carrying on any sort of meaningful conversation with someone who screams so much. It's funny for the purpose of the show, but I just don't get people who sexualize Zim at all. x.x;

That's how I like to write DATR too---that Dib has a crush on "human Tak" while simultaneously being creeped out whenever he remembers she's really an alien. 
Zim's not completely stupid---a few episodes show that he can be clever when he wants to be ("Future Dib," for example)---but yeah, he is incredibly unromantic.

Oh, you're right that Zim can be clever sometimes. I guess I meant more oblivious than anything. Dib's oblivious in his own way (He seems convinced Gaz is his friend in a lot of episodes X3 ), but for some reason his obliviousness is just more palatable to me.
I glanced at your gallery. Do you have any DATR posted that you feel is your best? I'd like to read some.

Actually I've never really written DATR, though my story "House Party of Doom" will start having a little bit of it whenever I get the next chapter out.
