As a fanon fan I don't know a lot of DxC shippers, so I'm not really sure what the general reaction to TDA was. Those I do know seem to have been as annoyed by it as anyone, if for different reasons, and if they continue to ship this couple do it while ignoring these incidents or pretending they didn't happen. That's totally cool.
But I'm sure somewhere, there are DxC fans that just don't care or even enjoyed the way Courtney treated Duncan. Which is messed up. No network would air a man doing that sort of stuff to a woman---and it shouldn't, because it would send an absolutely horrible message. But TDA and many other shows depict women/girls beating on men/boys all the time, as though this were any better. It's not.
Domestic violence is domestic violence. If Duncan can't smack Courtney with a guitar to the crotch, she shouldn't be able to do it to him.

Same could be said for sexual harassment. If you reverse the genders of Cody and Sierra's WT interactions, then people would flip shit.
I remember this line from PurpleBandit3000's "TDR3: Noah's Tour of the World" on FFnet. "On the other end was Sierra. Imagine if a man did to a girl all the things that she did to Cody. He would be claimed a perverted pedophile and be mercilessly beaten with a stick. But since Sierra's a girl and men like getting attention from women, it was perfectly acceptable."

By what do you mean? Sure, they were probably crushing on each other, but they weren't dating. Chris even kept asking in the episode replays if they were ever going to hook up (indicating that they weren't dating). I'm not excusing Courtney's behavior in any way, but it isn't technically domestic violence if they weren't dating. Plus, Duncan totally got her back in TWDT. What a dysfunctional couple.

Funny thing when I watched show for the first time I liked Courtney and hated Duncan. Guess I just assumed he deserves everything she does to him. This is so weird, look at the very first episode - the only thing we learn about Courtney is that she's nice. As the show went on- I dont like both of them. In fact I don't trust to like anybody, what with writers constantly changing their personalities. The only thing that is always certain is that Chris is a jerk and always will be.
Well, OK I like Dawn and I have hopes for her. But only her.
