well you can add lots of stuff in my opinion:
1. the fire is a strong light source, therefore it is natural to add more highlights on his cloths (you can still create more contrast between his back and his front)
2. your fire is almost 255 white, if there isn't anything to balance it out your painting will look kind of wrong (it's really hard to get 255 white in real life).
3. you can still work on your values, for example you can decrease background's values (due to atmosphere fog), so the character will pop out of background.
4. there is a strong light on background's right hand side, it won't be a bad idea to put something shiny on left hand side so the main focus would be the character.

I cant tell you whats missing, to me the way it is, is perfect. How the darkness underlines the feeling of dread and gives it the tones of an underworld devoid of light except for those two sphere and how the background just pulls the whole thing together, perfect, wouldnt change a thing if I was you.

I think that possibly the shoulder/upper torso/head could do with being 'tilted' further to the left... Otherwise it looks a little as though Anubis(?) is gonna tip over forwards XD I think if you did that, and maybe made the highlights on the underside of that shoulder a little 'thicker' (lighting up more of the shoulder) it might solve your problem. It would help to balance the composition I think.
BUT where are my manners? This is a beautiful piece. The mood is wonderful and the fire effects are simple gorgeous. I love the background too - the way you've suggested sand dunes without being too explicit. Gorgeous work! I hope you manage to solve the niggling feeling of something being wrong ^ ^
