This is my first attempt at creating a walk cycle for DAZ Big Cats 2.  I created a looping 30 frame walk cycle frame by frame and then saved the key-frames as an Aniblock in DAZ Studio.  The Aniblock clip was then applied to all the DAZ Big Cats 2 models (Tiger, Cheetah, Sabertooth Tiger, Puma, Jaguar, Leopard,  Lioness and Lion).  Each cat was exported as an OBJ sequence and imported into After Effects via Element 3D v2.  Since the walk cycle was in place an After Effects expression was added to each cat to move the model 300 px every frame to simulate walking forward.

Cool! I like the floor reflections the best, did you like?

Thanks, It's a WIP.  I just used the default "chrome" Element 3D shader on the floor and reduced the glossiness to soften the reflection.  I liked it against the grey environment and its super fast rendering.

These are fantastic, except for the lion.  It looks like his tail is rather short, unless you have a curve in it making it look short.

Thanks,
The video shows all the tails in action

I'm glad you said that.  I was going to comment that the cats look like they're slightly lame.  But, animating animals that we know of and how they actually walk by using models, is a bit on the difficult side.  That said, it's a rather good animation video, especially of the Smilodon.  If I may make an observation, the problem I saw with the feet was the fact that as the cats walked, it seemed to me that you were trying to make them walk plantigrade (the whole foot) instead of digitigrade (only on the toes).  I hope that helps you a little.

Yeah, since this was my first attempt the action not right. I had them walking on their toes but I may have messed things up more when I tried to fix the feet poking through the floor.

It's strange that it seems more prominent in the Saber tooth, since the same motion is applied to all the models.   I forgot how much of a pain it is animating poses in DAZ Studio. More experimentation is needed.

One thing you might want to consider on the Smilodon is this.  It's a cat but it's a different type of cat than the ones we all know and love.  It's the only known species of cat that was genetically disposed to having a short tail.  When we see an animal walk, the tail always comes into play.  Perhaps, the tail wasn't used as a rudder as is the case in most cats; perhaps, the longer forelegs were used as the rudder causing the stride to be altered somewhat.  BTW, I'm a fan of paleotological TV shows and one, "Prehistoric America", shows smilodons walking.  In that show, they walk much in the same manner of your animation.
