Not exactly sure, if the title means the dragon is going to eat them, but the scene is cool as hell!

Of course it does beg the question as to who get's to be Dinner. Perhaps it's a dragon trap?

I really hope that dragon is their friend and not someone getting the drop on them.Β Β
The lighting is especially beautiful in this one, Joe. It's a really interesting scene too!

Thank you, I learned a lot about ghost lights in this image.Β I started by just lighting the forest and then had to figure out what was happening in the scene by adding characters.Β The dragon was the late to dinner

Man I feel dumb. After looking at the image, I read the description and went "Wait, you can't use the Ghost Light Kit outdoors!"
Obviously, you can!
I think I might have asked you about the Ghost Light Kit 1 before, but I don't recall. Does either Kit allow for essentially one-click ambient lighting? And are the ghost lights anymore invisible than standard iray light primitives set to not render (which will instead render as black cutouts if positioned or angled wrong)?

JoePingleton In reply to Explanoite [2017-12-20 16:49:45 +0000 UTC]
This is my first experience withΒ Ghost Lights.Β I shut off all the environmental light and just kept addingΒ Ghost Lights until I lit the forest in an interesting way.Β Then I had to discover what to populate the environment with to give it some sort of a narrative.
I'm still not sure how ghost light's differ other than that they don't show the emitters in the render. More experimentation is required to figure out what that difference is.Β The other weird thing is that it really speeds up the render times and quality

Explanoite In reply to JoePingleton [2017-12-20 21:50:50 +0000 UTC]
Huh. The product page mentioned it sped up render times, and that IS mighty tempting, but I should probably learn how to make use of the existing iray lighting kits I already have before buying even more.

black-Kat-3D-studio In reply to JoePingleton [2017-12-21 11:42:45 +0000 UTC]
Welcomed Joe! I like Ghost Light 1 it is different to 2 it only has flat planes which can be used to simulate lighting from windows etc
in my latest posting "Information" the supplied lights were too bright for what I wanted so I deleted them and added a dome light from GL 2 at the centre of the roof and a flat plane from GL 1 in front of the camera both at 700k
hope this helps
