I was thinking of a particular female who wanted me to help her collect pin feathers from a variety of birds at a local zoo for a histology study. The birds were a male turkey (success!), a peacock (too fast to catch, but it taunted us by spreading its tail from afar), emus (no way I was getting into a cage with those nine foot toothless dinosaurs - just watching them pace back and forth in their cage freaked me out), and lastly rheas (they were maybe five feet tall, but as I was getting ready to leap the fence I realized that they weren't frightened of me, and seemed, well, interested, so I said forget it.). It turns out rheas can disembowel a human with a single kick.
