Thank you, I was looking at hummingbird photographs and they always seemed to have a shallow depth of field

Fantastic DOF!! Shall We Humm?
If you spot render with DOF on the wings and go in passes you can get a blurry effect. Though I must say I cheated a little on this one with Photoshop gaussian blur.

JoePingleton In reply to NapalmArsenal [2019-03-24 18:43:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, That is a great idea. I read a whole thread on "Hummingbird wing blur a bad photo? " before trying this experiment.  I think motion bur does help give it some action. Though I left it out of this test and focused more on that it seems all the Hummingbird photos seem to have a really shallow DOF and it kind of made it feel like subtle motion blur on its wings

It's wonderful.  IRL, one of of these flew up to my very first drone to check it out, which was about the same size.

I got into drones to take ariel photographs; unfortunately it's pretty expensive (but prices keep dropping).

Thank you, I have wanted the hummingbird models for a long time and took advantage of the sale to finally get them.  Then I just tried to mimic the Iray settings from SBRM Waterfowl Vol 1 - Dabbling Ducks  . Looking at hummingbird photographs and they always seemed to have a shallow depth of field
