Looks a bit flat? So is there anything that can be done to enhance it?

There are probably lots of things that can be done to enhance it. This was my second attempt in blender

Was this with iray materials or 3dl materials on the original?
Does it make any difference?

Can you do a comparison with the same shot rendered in Daz with Iray? I'd love to see how the differences between automatically-converted Cycles and Iray.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoePingleton In reply to Poses17 [2018-01-19 22:21:17 +0000 UTC]

This scene always seemed to take forever to render in DAZ until I started using Ghost lights and then it rendered super fast.Β  I still have no idea what I am doing in Blender, so the comparison might not mean much

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Poses17 In reply to JoePingleton [2018-01-19 22:38:35 +0000 UTC]

I'd still be curious. I'm also curious about the Ghost lights. I've thought about getting that package but wasn't sure how much of a difference it would make for me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoePingleton In reply to Poses17 [2018-01-19 23:30:49 +0000 UTC]

I was very reluctant about ghost lights until I got "Iray Ghost Light Kit 2" on sale. Now I use them for everything.Β  I had heard that they sped up renders and thought I could make something like them myself.Β  I still don't understand how they speed things up, but the results were very clear that they did.Β  It has allowed me to use products like "MICK (Medieval Interior Construction Kit)" that always had noise in other lights and took forever to render, to render clean and in under a minute.Β  Again I'm not sure why, but I like it

What's your assessment?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoePingleton In reply to GhostRide-Media [2018-01-19 21:49:59 +0000 UTC]

It's so easy, just exported "The Enchanted Forest" from DAZ Studio, made a few spheres, added emissive shaders and then moved them around, rendered.Β  I am loving Blender so far
