Description
This is another experiment with Carrara 8.5 Pro using LUXUS for Carrara to render. This time I played with adding a Daz Skeleton and Daz Anatomy to a genesis figure. Then I placed a mesh light behind the figure to see how it handled sub surface scattering. I also used his skin settings on the internal organs. I was a little disappointing that we couldn’t see them under the skin, just the skeleton shows. But you really don’t see them in real life, so that is to be expected.Related content

Thank you, I have always been fascinated when you put a flashlight behind your finger and shows through the skin. I tried to replicate that effect in 3D, it didn't work the way I expected, but the results seemed interesting

Yeah it is really cool I used to put a flashlight behind my fingers and was fascinated about the light shining through

What are the odds I'd find this?
This is EXACTLY the reference I need to draw this character me and my brother thought up. It's pretty much impossible to find 'picture of person glowing from the inside out' on the internet, so I'm glad I could find it here. Thank you!

I created this so long ago in Carrara and don't really remember what I did. I know it wasn't anything too complicated because this is from a time when I only spend about an hour on these experiments. I think I just maxed the SSS settings for the skin and placed the lights right up against the skin.

Thank you, this was one of my first attempts to understand Subsurface Scattering in Carrara. I wanted to see if I could get that effect of when you put your finger over a flashlight.

Thank you, I was always fascinated with the effect of putting a light behind my hand as a primitive x-ray effect and had to try it in 3D

The trick was to crank up the Subsurface Scattering settings

Thank you,
It was my most popular image for a long time, and it was also one of the quickest from idea to final.

Thank you,
It was fun to explore SSS in LUXUS for Carrara and layering figures to show some internal structure. Not very accurate but interesting results

Thank you,
I was trying for that effect when you put your finger on a light. It way exaggerated, but that's the fun sometimes
