My take on the Leucrotta, a classic monster that has vocal imitating abilities often used to lure adventurers into traps. I gave the creature a throat sac, which she inflates during vocalizations, just like a howling monkey.
A common tatic is to imitate a child or woman crying for help. That would be too on the nose. Last session my leucrotta imitated a cat in distress and it worked. My players entered the forest to check on the poor kitty.
