Very nice work. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of pen/pens did you use, and did you use anything to aid you in getting nice clean/straight lines?

Hi. I used a standard pencil first, drawing him by eye (squinting a lot). Then I went over with pen. I use Faber-Castell black pens (I've got the Manga set which you can pick up for a fiver and includes a fantastic brush pen which I use to do the block shading). I highly recommend those pens. I had them recommended to me and think they're great. I didn't use a ruler for this one (I hardly ever use a ruler apart from laser beams and backgrounds), just long pencil strokes.

Cool! Thanks for the response. I actually use the same pens! Not the manga set, but my wife got me a set of black pens in various sizes, and just recently got me this large box of the color brush pens. They've been great.

Thanks very much. I recently bought a set of 9 Copic black pens from Amazon. They took ages to arrive (they shipped from Japan) but they're a great set. I'd recommend those too.
