Johnny Cage enters MK11 a hardened soldier fighting for the safety of Earthrealm. He has seen some shit in his years of service and knows that he needs to teach the new generation of soldiers of the special forces. When the earthrealm invasion of the Netherrealm goes into action, they actually come out victorious, however at the cost of his wife's life. Now widowed, he tries to stay strong for his Daughter Cassie.

Peace is quickly cut short when a sudden rift in the time line tears into their reality and suddenly he comes face to face with his younger self. Now realizing how much of a shmuck he is, he tries to lead his past self on a straight path to heroism.

The past Johnny is completely full of himself and does not view the things happening around him as real in anyway. Believing everything to be merely smoke and mirrors he quickly gets a reality adjustment. Will he continue to go down the selfish path to fame and stardom, or will he take the path that allows for a family and a future for his Daughter?
