Quan Chi has been working in the shadows for ages, and now his diabolical plan has finally come to fruition. The Sorcerer deceived Shao Kahn into believing victory over EarthRealm was his to have, however, in truth, Shao Kahn was never meant to succeed in merging the Realms. Upon Shao Kahn's failure, Outworld would be left in ruin, and in turn Earth would have taken a huge blow from the invasion. The two realms would be too weak to defend themselves from a third party, and as such that third party was the Brotherhood of Shadow.

The worshipers of the Fallen Elder God Shinnok, would allow Shinnok to be freed from his eternal damnation in hell and allowed to rise and seek his vengeance on all the gods across the realms as well as the Elders themselves. And upon victory, their conquest of the realms will lead to one single world merged with hell itself, under one single Elder God, SHINNOK.
