Aww, that's so sad.
It's an awesome and REALLY sad comic. Good idea on it!
I want them to bring back Gilda then everyone forgives her.
(P.S: The reason why I have that emote thing at the top right corner of my speech is because I'm trying to tell the main six about Gilda. )

Ok, unlike Trixie. Gilda I feel deserves her pain more. She seemed a whole lot meaner and made Fluttershy cry.
Still, I think she deserves forgiveness if she changes makes amends and seeks it out. No one who does not seek it, deserves to be alone.

I have read fanfics that explain Trixie's behavior. Basically the consensus is that she was an orphan who adopted the "GAPT" personality to shield herself, and that she's a lot more vulnerable than she pretends to be. Any explanation I can think up for Gilda's behavior makes her seem selfish.

Yes, well fanfic is completely up to the fans. It is a good consensus and could be true. I could see that, though I could just as easily see her growing up in a family life with lots of pressure to succeed which makes here gain a superiority complex. Her parents could have been very powerful unicorns. Its an all to real life truth.
Gilda is similar. She gained a superiority complex early on in her life. It can happen when you have a lot of skill when you are young and overly praised for it. Look at Rainbow. She could have easily let her talents go to her head (well she does at times) and become a jerk as well. There is no denying that she has a superiority complex and flaunts it at times. Fortunately she also has friends who don't pander to her skills and pretend to be her friend. So they keep her grounded. Perhaps if Gilda had friends like RD has. She might not have been so mean.
Kinda why I like this picture. It shows her learning something about herself. That maybe she realizes the way she acts may be pushing everyone away. Especially those that did care about her at one time.

Trixie is easier to make sympathetic as she wasn't directly responsible for the events of the episode. The Ursa Minor attack was the work of her dimwitted fans Snips and Snails. Gilda on the other hand was directly responsible for every mean thing that happens in the episode. It's easy to view Trixie's bravado as overcompensation for a tragic past. The key difference is that Trixie was a victim of circumstance, whilst Gilda seemed to know what she was doing. Care to explain why she was mean to Fluttershy when it's likely that they were in the same flight school together.

Easy, how many of your fellow classmates do you remember for every year of school? It was made clear that in Fluttershy and RD early years they knew each other in school. After fluttershy fell she learned of the world below herself and really loved it.
So after that year she attended school on the ground (as seen in Cheerilie's class). I don't remember it every being pointed out that Fluttershy and RD were friends in school or grew up together. Just that RD did not like her being picked on and defended her. So Fluttershy left after that year cause of being teased a lot, for a school she wanted to be in. Next year (or time after) Gilda attended the school or RD and her became friends. Gilda never met or did but did not care to remember Fluttershy.
Anyway, yes Gilda did know what she was doing but it could (most likly) be product of her past and home life. None of us are born mean or jerks. We grow that way. Gilda learned a lot that day (even if her nature prevented her from realizing it). One of our greatest qualities of the human condition is our ability to show compassion and forgiveness. Even in the face of those that have wronged us. Fluttershy shares this same compassion. Faced with Gilda again and asked, I am sure she would forgive her instantly.

I've read a fanfic that portrays Gilda sympathetically. It's called "The New Gilda" and takes place sometime after "Griffon The Brush Off". It's basically that episode in reverse. She comes to Ponyville to apologize to Fluttershy for her behavior, The uber-judgmental Rainbow Dash sees her with 'Shy, believes that she's up to no good, and tries to "save" Fluttershy from her. It's really good but highlights what frustrates me about the "miscomunication" episodes. The show uses the plot device of "X knows something but the others don't listen" way too much.

No one is born
To be good
Or evil
Is that their journey
Is what made them
To be like that
So don't judge beings
Before you get to know them
So try to at least
Walk a thousand miles
On their shoes

We all speculate whatever happened to Gilda and Trixie after they were run out of town. The sad and regretful results are by far the most popular ones. And they have the right to be coz the deep emotions of grief and pity for the jerk character is what makes these Gilda, Trixie fanfics truly special. HASBRO! WE NEED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO TRIXIE AND GILDAAAAA!

This reminds me of the night that I turned 18. I was all alone, walking home from a friend's house because everyone went out for the midnight premiere of Dark Knight Rises.
Sang myself my own birthday song, too.
Here's to you, Gilda.

I never got brony hatred of Gilda. Nothing she did in the episode was really that bad. I just assume bronies (being primarily nerds) project their own bullies onto her.
