I haven't done a vector in a long time. I decided to use Sarah Silverman as a subject cuz she's nifty. I'm really trying to get back into the groove. This isn't as detailed or involved as some of my other pieces, but I needed to mess around with the pen tool for a bit, and here's the result.Related content

Yeah dude. I didn't see it until I printed it out. My monitor's color setup is pretty rich and dark, so that didn't show up on screen. I have to fix it.

Not only is this accurate yet artistic vector but your choice of subject is well chosen as well. Sarah is for sure a beauty, but more than anything she is so spacial because her personality is so wonderful, and filled with rare qualities. Kudos to you both for your talent and picking such wonderful subject to pay homage to.

hey. you know more about vectoring than me and your much better. but i have one question. When you do the shadows on the face. do you make the darkest color a base layer then adding lighter layers to over lap the base. or do you just make all the different shadows their own unique shapes that dont over lap?

When you do vectors... do you usually start with your darkest darks? like her hair and her eyes?
Do you ONLY use the pen tool? cause I've found that I enjoy the pencil tool more for a more organic feel for things such as ppl?

Yes. I use the pen tool for 98% of it, and use a brush for some accents in the hair.
