Stock image used from 's gallery.The idea for the rain inspired by 's version of coloring of 's version of my Thistle character. (Cool stuff.)
Green background against the pink hair and all semi-inspired by one of 's series of stock photos.
I just thought the photo made sense in a rainy setting. I love the summer time when there's a shower, and you can smell the pavement.

How did you get the original photo to look like that? what tool/Program did you use? It looks Awesome and i really wan't to start this kind of style! please help!

I used Adobe Illustrator and using the photo as a reference, re-drew it in vector.

How do you do that? If i have an original image in Illustrator, do i use Live trace? How do use it as a reference? what does that do? I really wan't to figure this out. Appreciate your help!

Live trace is garbage in my opinion. I place the pic in illustrator and use the pen tool to manually trace along the main outlines of the image (head, eyes, nose) almost like inking a drawing. Then I pull the photo over to the side and re-create all the shading by eye.

So you trace the profile of the the person's face? If i do that it just draws a line, I't doesn't effect the picture...How do you shade an highlight? Maybe I am in over my head! no1 has a tutorial about this! Thanks 4 trying to explain!

No you do it over the picture and when you're finished, you delete the reference pic and keep the vector.
