The texture actually looks better at real size. 16 inches by 20 inches.
I used Painter 9 for the texture. I'll put an image of a the texture applied in my scraps area so you can see it 100%
Under the cloner brushes there is a "texture spray cloner". it's has a stucco look and feel. I simply used that spray for the quick clone texture, then I copied the textured image and put it in a layer over the original painting image. I then used the cloning brush to do another quick clone texture.. this brush is called "Splatterly clone spray" and put that on a third layer. Then I adjusted the opacity of the textured layers until it felt right to me.

I really, really like this picture for some reason. Maybe it's the colours - I'm attracted to such a 'dark' atmosphere with the blues and/or purples (I can't tell the difference between blues and purples usually, lol, so don't mind me). But I find it very interesting.
The rabbits are cute too. I like how you've drawn the focus of the eye into the center of the picture when you first look at it, and then your eyes slowly wander to the background.

I think you may be right. I'll be playing with it soon. To be honest I think I rushed it a little and took the texture short-cut. At first I liked it but now the texture is starting to bug me, like I took the easy way out. I'm working on something else right now, but I'll get back to this. Sometimes I have step away from a picture for a few days before I can tell if I like it or not. lol

Ah, great coloring.
The decision to color the man, tongue, and rabbits makes them stand out more than they usually would (which was quite a bit).

I wanted the focus to be on the characters in the middle of the pic. I added some texture to the illustration too.. not sure about it, but I'm ready to move on to a new illustration.
