Description Three months and one day after I said "STAY TUNED" with this deviation (www.deviantart.com/joeygatorma… ), and several redesigns later, our twelve boys are ready to roll!

The year is 1957. Rock 'n' roll is here to stay. The Cold War is getting hotter. …Or is it colder? Quiz shows are the real big thing on television. Revolution is about to be order of the day in many parts of the world.

In the small coastal town of Forest Green in central California, twelve fifth-grade boys in one neighborhood go on some wild adventures while navigating the weird, National Geographic-worthy mores of suburbia. Together, they are the Student Princes.

GIDEON GATOR: Gideon, the sole reptile of the bunch, is loud and opinionated. Despite his "C" average at Forest Green Elementary, he is rather intelligent and bright. The way he tells it, he is simply trying to find that perfect balance between work and life and failing. His brashness offends some of the other boys, although he has a tight bond with his close friend, timid, shy P.J. Gideon has no time whatsoever for pessimism.

P.J. BLUE JAY: P.J. is as dedicated to his friends as he is to his schoolwork—that is, very much so. He is quiet most of the time—partly because of shyness, partly due to unwillingness to step on others' conversations, and otherwise on a need to focus. When performing tasks before the class or an assembly, it is hard for him to gain composure. P.J. rarely has a discouraging word for anybody and easily shrugs off insults. He is musically inclined, learning to play the oboe and saxophone. He shares a brotherly bond with that loudmouth Gideon.

THAD TIGER: Thad is the most energetic of the Student Princes, due to a good diet and high activity. He usually presses the group into action, even when there is little action to be found or when the others aren't interested. He tends to overexert himself on occasion, causing him to shut down and take a nap. He is more than willing to try anything at least once, be it a new sport or hobby, or food. In spite of being a majority-female activity, Thad has displayed a willingness to be a cheerleader.

JASCHA SQUIRREL: Jascha is witty, intelligent and good-natured. He gets along well with the other boys, although his tendency to explain his jokes and witticisms gets under the skin of a few friends, especially Gideon. Like P.J., he is learning to play instruments—in this case, the violin and piano—but apart from that, he yearns to spend as much time away from home as possible. His mostly-absentee father runs a major factory and his status-climbing mother sees Jascha as the next, well, Heifetz.

SAMMY SKUNK: Sammy is a laid-back skunk who would rather play pinball and eat pizza than be in school. His preoccupation with the gang's adventures trumps his ability to learn, which gets him into trouble with his parents. He finds in Jascha a close friend, a funny squirrel and a very capable tutor ready to set him on the right track. He will usually dance to something if it has a beat—any beat at all, however fast or slow it may be.

CURLY BEAR: The youngest of the Student Princes, Curly is enjoying what his left of his carefree years. Usually he will spend time at the playground with his best friend, Farley, commenting on the nature around them. He is somewhat slow on the take compared to his friends and sometimes needs help understanding things. His slight pudginess makes him the butt of jokes sometimes, but has difficulty defending himself—a job that is left to the other SPs.

BARKLEY BEAVER: Barkley seeks entertainment where he can get it—as such, he watches plenty of teevee for a child his age, but also enjoys swimming at the lake or at the nearby beach and begging the others to do some funny things. Fortunately, he is easily amused, but it's no secret he finds school boring. If not for his friends, he would feel very awkward, indeed. He enjoys singing, no matter what's playing and where.

DUSTY WOLF: Born to a family of Arizona sodbusters, Dusty moved to Forest Green just in time for kindergarten. He finds life in the suburbs more peaceful and more manageable. Life on the farm taught Dusty how to be resourceful, and gladly reuses things if there is still a use for them. Heeding his parents' advice to be of help to others, he constantly asks his friends if he can be of any help to their problems. He loves to cook and sometimes brings dishes to his friends to share.

FARLEY FOX: The only boy in the neighbrhood with a treehouse, Farley likes to imagine himself as a pirate defending his keep—or whomever else he wants to be, depending on his whims and his mood. In line with his vivid imagination, he sometimes raids his collection of old Halloween costumes and plays pretend. He shares the same carefree attitude as his fellow 10-year-old, Curly. He is very polite, even more so than the nominally prim-and-proper Jascha.

MACK RACCOON: Mack is good at wanting to make things, even if the things he makes are either impractical or sloppy. Even though Gideon says so himself, he encourages Mack to keep at it. One day he'll end up getting things right. Mack has a fear of failure that sometimes worries him and the others usually try to reassure him. He likes to keep things clean, something carried over from his semi-skills at using tools.

BOBBY RABBIT: Bobby's a buddy, a chum, somebody who'll slap you on the back and be very gregarious. He is also very competitive in many pursuits, especially sports. Although he wanted to be a soccer player, his parents convinced him to try out basketball, his other favorite, instead. He'll sometimes challenge the other SPs into snap competitions, unable to shake this bug.

PRINCE ELEPHANT: Born to English parents in Forest Green, Prince appears to be the straight man of the group: He loves a little of everything the other boys do and takes part in this fun hodgepodge—in this case, definitely a good thing. He does keep a good collection of board games at his house and usually asks his friends over on weekends. He usually gets good grades in school and his English kindness finds favor with the other SPs.

Anyway, expect these kids in some exciting things real soon!
