Description
My skull apple when it had rotted a bitPart of a previous project on growth & decay. I thought the two elements worked well -apples symbolise growth and life, while skulls symbolise decay and death.

We did these last year for Halloween, the "how-to" was in Martha Stewart's Halloween edition magazine. It was a blast to make them and we got a lot of compliments on the apple-skull indoor tree and hangings we did. I like how you left the skin on the teeth, it really makes them pop and identifies the part of the skull. It looks really great.

Cool! Yeah, it was fun for me too, and challenging because I had no tools at home so had to carve it with a meat-scewer Thankyou!

omg a meat-scewer? lmao wow we just used butter knives and a spoon...lol that must have been ridiculous for you, but you did a great job! Especially with the orbital cavity.

Thankyou! It was part of a project on "growth and decay". I figured that the concept would work as the apple symbolises growth and life, while the skull symbolises decay and death. The works of Dimitri Tsykalov did inspire me, although I was planning on doing this before I saw his stuff
Thanks again!
