Goodness me, I just adore how you are able to tell the time of day in this image; the pink glow to the clouds and the blue tones being invited in. Absolutely fantastic.

A very interesting landscape of an alien planet, that's both cold and warm, dark and bright simultaneously.Β Β
The floating rocks just ad more exciting mystery to it. I wonder what's beyond the horizon!Β Β
Expertly done, fellow deviant! Β Β

Wonderful harmony in the color palette. It's mysterious and beautiful, a landscape that could exist in a world beyond. It inspires a setting for an epic story.Β
Amazing work; truly talented.Β

Cool! The colours remind me of a level in an old game I really loved. Diddy Kong Racing was a fun kart-racing game on the Nintendo 64, and there were these space-themed tracks in the game with bright pink/purple skies and purple/blue grounds. Of course - considering what graphics were like back then - this one looks much nicer

There was this really old SEGA megadrive game - Eternal Champions - which used a lot of thiese strange color combinations to create really unique surroundings for fights (it was a mortal combat-esque brawler). But I also recall some Sonic levels and even older games using this combination (I think one of the old Conan games - I think it was on Commodore - had pink ground and green skies).

Games were so full of colour back then I thought I was the only one who had a Sega Master System (most people had the superior Megadrive/Genesis...but we couldn't afford it at the time) and I remember playing an assortment of bright games on that. Pink skies, purple grounds and all other unusual colour schemes must have been popular at the time. Even a lot of the older, traditional sci-fi and space art was really colourful back then. I think now we know to expect either more earthlike or less-saturated colours. But still - it's fun to bring out an unusual, almost fantasy-like palette. Hence why I so often do it

It was due to the 80Β΄s art style - even the bands were full of colours - death metal? speed metal? grunge? naaah - we'll go GLAM ROCK! Pink trousers, glittering shirts and hair dyed with all the colours of the rainbow.

Haha, I must admit - I do love the glam rock look...well, sometimes (it varies a lot) Shiny clothes and flambouyant hair always grab my attention But I am remembering cheesy 80's sci fi and fantasy artwork I've seen before though
Lucky I was only 2 by the time the decade ended - I didn't have enough time to remember any of it
