By any chance do you use a Photophop that supports 3D models? X___X

amazing, my planet designs incorporate these as well, problem is what do you do when you have Dark Blade armies trying to destroy them? XD
(my solution is sending a trio of soldiers to the ring at 100Kmph to pick em off!lol)
well done!

That's pretty neat, I like the space scenes like this one, though the color contrast could use some work. A few of the shines don't look like they should be there and a few of the shadows seem like they should be darker to me, seeing as it's space and not a normal world environment. It's not too bad though I think.

Excellent work! Awesome color blending, I dig the geometry on the surface of the planets also. Nice touch with the Larry Niven too.
I can't paint, or draw worth a dang, but if I could ever manage something this cool a la 3D with Blender or the like, I'd feel quite good about myself. Again, well done!

That's a Dyson Ring. For those who don't know what one is, look up Dyson Sphere. Wow.

Well, it's more like a simple structure around the planet to enhance the habitable space (really large space station). Since Niven ring (or Dyson Ring) would orbit around the star.

Not entirely. A Dyson Ring is a massive object that orbits something. An example is Halo. In the books, their are Dyson Rings that are the size of planets, and are even within a "Shield World," which is a Dyson Sphere the size of a planet. Example is the book "Ghosts of Onyx."

Yeah, but it's derived from much older concept of an artifical ring orbiting the sun (Ringworld by Larry Niven) - you see, the purpose of such a ring (or world) is to recieve as much energy from the star it orbits as possible - orbiting a planet has no reason.

I read the wiki article, I used it to make sure I was spelling it right. The wiki also mentions about transmitting energy wirelessly to others, and even having the object surrounding an artificial sun.
I realize we can go on forever discussing this, but the basic idea is: it a large ring. Whether it's a Dyson Ring or something else, doesn't matter. I will stick with it just being a large ring for now, just to avoid any future argument.
Still, I love the art.

Yeah, it fits the best. Anyway - "Ringworld" is an awesome book, so If you like sci-fi, you should read this piece as well.
