They would keep orbiting each other until they would slowly merge a few billion years later Gravity has its ways

Yeah, but Im talkin like a rouge gas giant full on colliding with another. Theres no solid surface to impact but they get so dense in their inner layers it might aswell be solid. I feel like they would ignite and seperate the gasses and then eventually join together.

Most of the gasses would be thrown away and the rest would merge... ..that is, if there is no solid surface (just pressurized gas).
