Let me just say, to begin, that I love this piece. I love the texture, the line work, and everything else about the technique. it all works, but that's not why I love it.
I think what drew me to this piece was the utter look of disinterest on the subjects face. Here he is, doing something that is spectacular, more or less, and it shows that he doesn't care. He could be bored with it, stoned, or just doing it to kill time, but he doesn't care in any regard. He just stands there, accepting the world around him.
That's what makes this piece awesome. Rather than convey so much in expression and body language that could make everything too cartoon-ish, the artist choose to just let character be real, and that speaks wonders to the vision.
Honestly, even if there is a crude sense to it all, I find this to be flawless.
